Graduates of Hanover programmes were keen to stay in touch and continue their personal development.  So they set up Hanover Connect.

Activities are devised and run by the Connect Council  (formerly known as the Student Council) launched in 2006 and made up of young people who have completed Hanover coaching programmes.

Council members undertake a range of activities, including speaking engagements at schools and colleges, which enable them to continue their personal development.

Hanover Connect produces a termly E-zine – click below to download previous editions.

E-zine 2 – spring 2007

E-zine 1 – autumn 2006

The Connect Council has big plans for the future, so watch this space...

Yemisi Blake – Hanover Connect Chair

Yemisi Blake was one of the first 6th form students to participate in Hanover’s Co-coaching programme.  He joined Hanover as a part-time employee in September 2005 whilst studying for a degree in Sociology at Goldsmith’s College, London. He has presented briefings for Hanover at the House of Commons and at a Specialist Schools Trust Humanities conference.

Also a rising performance poet, he has his own poetry event production company, T-Shirt & Jeans.  He is a member of the international writers’ collective Malika’s Kitchen, and currently sits on the board of the UK’s premier performance poetry organisation, Apples & Snakes. Yemisi’s ultimate aim is to run an empowerment programme for children in secondary schools, which incorporates creative writing.
