Ruth Culver – Head of Marketing & Development Prior to joining Hanover in 2006, Ruth managed a broad range of marketing, fundraising and PR projects for charities including Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the Soil Association and the Rainforest Foundation, as well as at the BBC. Her groundbreaking events for the Inside Out Trust introducing local employers to prisons, to encourage ex-offender employment, led to the Home Office adopting her model for use throughout the Prison Service. She is also credited with single-handedly rescuing Crusaid’s Walk for Life by doubling participation and tripling profit within 3 years.
Neil Grimston –Regional Co-ordinator
Corporate adviser, mentor and coach. Neil is currently Chairman Hanover Partnership,Vice Chairman Board of Governors Westminster Adult Education Service, Member Advisory Panel Devonshire Corporate Finance, Past Master and Honorary Court Assistant Worshipful Company of Scriveners. Previously an investment banker, Neil has built and managed enterprises in USA, Asia and Europe from multinationals through to start-ups. Commanded a Territorial Army unit in direct war role attachment to BAOR. Formerly, elected member London Borough of Richmond upon Thames Council where Neil specialised in education and youth. Former trustee City of London charity fund. Alumnus London Business School.
Serena Standing – Chief Executive
Serena Standing has been Chief Executive of Hanover since 1997. A qualified coach and counsellor, she additionally works as an executive coach in the corporate sector, with clients including FTSE chief executives. Prior to this she had a successful academic and entrepreneurial career in the UK and Middle East and was also an advisor and facilitator on UK business start-ups. She is a Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Fletchers and holds a range of directorships. Serena is a certified practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a qualified user of MBTI Personality Type Indicators and is a registered coach for the Clore Leadership Programme. Member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council.
Maureen Stevens –Regional Co-ordinator
Maureen is a professional development consultant working in the education sector. She is a Regional Co-ordinator for Hanover Foundations and also provides personal development coaching and group workshops in London secondary schools. Maureen started her career with Prudential Assurance in overseas life insurance and then in human resources. She has a wealth of experience in secondary education, both as a teacher and senior leader. Her work in schools included responsibility for initial teacher training; staff development and education and business links. Maureen is a qualified Home Economist and an associate member of the Federation of Image Consultants. She has a diploma in Psychotherapy and is a member of the National Council of Psychotherapists. She is also a member of the Association of School and College Leaders.
Joy Wright – Operations Director
Joy is has been Operations Director since 2001 and also works as a Hanover Coach. Prior to this she spent 16 years recruiting, managing and developing teams in the telecoms and finance industries. She pioneered a company staff group development programme where she acted as both a facilitator and a mentor. Joy has a Diploma in Psychotherapy and is an associate member of The National Council of Psychotherapists. She is a qualified user of MBTI Personality Type Indicators and is a registered coach for the Clore Leadership Programme. Member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council.
